Linda Dreghorn
Company Secretary, Green Cross Australia and Acting Director, Dance and Music, Arts QLD
Linda has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Queensland and she has practised as a solicitor in Queensland for over 20 years.
She has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Company Secretarial Studies and is a chartered secretary. Linda is currently working in a senior governance and strategic planning role in Arts Queensland.
She was formerly Company Secretary/Legal Counsel for Major Brisbane Festivals Pty Ltd and is Company Secretary for Dvconnect Limited.
Previous roles include General Manager of Brisbane Festival 2006, Secretary of the Queensland Law Society Inc, Coordinator of Due Diligence for SunWater’s acquisition of major water infrastructure, Lecturer in Law at QUT and as a corporate solicitor in private practice.
Sue Lyons Financial Controller
After completing her Bachelor degree with distinction in 1987, Sue was invited to join the global firm of Arthur Andersen as a graduate accountant.
For 15 years at Arthur Andersen, Sue specialised in taxation consulting and compliance. Prior to the merger of the firm with Ernst & Young in 2002, she held the position of Principal and was second to the National Head of the Private Client Services Practice in Australia. Sue continued to work for the merged firm of Ernst & Young in Brisbane and for 4 years she lead the Human Capital practice in Brisbane, providing taxation and accounting advice to high net worth individuals and private client groups.
In 2007, she left the firm to operate a private consulting business, providing advice on accounting and taxation matters, and to take up the part-time position as Financial Controller of Green Cross Australia.
Sue is a member of CPA Australia since 1991 and is a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Miranda MasonHead of Programs
With a background in Education, Government, Community relations
and creative arts, Miranda is a dynamic teacher who has had a
multitude of experiences which have contributed to her future
focused and collaborative style. She is passionate about making
education engaging, relevant and purposeful by utlising technology
in order to develop flexible, adaptive thinkers who are prepared to
meet the challenges of their time.
Miranda brings her vibrant approach to Green Cross
Australia. She volunteers for the Australian Association for
Environmental Education and encourages student empowerment and
activism as a vehicle for understanding environmental change.
Miranda has has consulted for the Brisbane Ideas Festival, Brisbane
City Council and Brisbane Writers Festival. She is the author of
several environmental education reference materials including
"Groovy Green Ideas" (Ready-Ed publications).
Her energy is matched only by her passion for cheese and
trees!
Caitlin Calder-PottsProject Coordinator
After a taste of the Green Cross life in 2008 as a volunteer,
Caitlin has now joined the family as our Project Coordinator.
Caitlin holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Human Rights &
Ethics and Society & Change. She has recently completed her
Masters in Philosophy. Having lived, worked and travelled
extensively throughout Europe and Asia, Caitlin has been able to
see first hand the global consequences of climate change,
particularly for those most vulnerable due to poverty and living
circumstances.
Her passion for climate change issues, combined with her prior
administrative experience and interest in policy and human rights,
make her a enthusiastic member of the Green Cross Australia
team.
Cassie GraceDigital Communications Manager
Cassie is a creative communications professional with a wealth
of experience having worked in arts and creative organisations
for over eight years. She holds a Bachelor of Communications and
was working at Brisbane Festival on their digital strategy in 2006
when Green Cross Australia was born out of their Earth Dialogues
program.
Cassie's time spent travelling the world and volunteer work
in Ecuador for a sustainable community development project sparked
her interest in humanitarian issues and their impact on the
environment.
Cassie's recent work as a Communications Consultant for a
digital company in London and Marketing Officer for Brisbane City
Council's Creative Communities team brings a range of experience to
Green Cross Australia.
