Best eco-travel experience?

The hidden Buddhist paradise of Ladakh, the north-Indian extension of the Tibetan Plateau, where yaks provide food, clothing, shelter and fuel from dung. How’s that for eco-efficiency?!

The designs and fabrics of Sara Victoria are divine, soft and super stylish. I'd recommend her to anyone.

Eco-friendly renovations?

We moved from Sydney into a recycled timber cottage in the Gold Coast hinterland. My husband is an environmental plumber – which is handy because our valley is off the water mains. We are also investing in photovoltaic solar tiles to be 100 per cent powered by the sun. 

Green transport?  

I do my bit and drive a Prius - however I think its kinder on the environment if I drive to the train station then commute to Brisbane to and from work. On the other hand, working from home creates less emissions and is often a source of great inspiration.

Do you carbon offset your travel?

Yes it takes two trees to offset a flight from the Gold Coast to Sydney, so each trip is an opportunity for me to plant trees in my backyard! I also often buy AGO (Australian Greenhouse Office) accredited offsets.

Tips for those wanting to make a difference?

Every light bulb you change or bus you catch makes a difference. People often forget that every little bit counts.
