I consider myself a late-bloomer when it comes to climate change.

Sure, my showers last a maximum of four minutes, I use public transport daily, I even turn electrical appliances off at the wall - but that doesn't necessarily mean I've jumped on the sustainability bandwagon.

In 2005, when An Inconvenient Truth was released, the issues facing our planet achieved a new level of public awareness.

Today the facts on climate change are almost impossible to refute.

But as nice as it would be to ignore the future impacts of climate change, it turns out that the majority of the 145 million peole to be displaced by just one metre of sea level rise are in our Asia-Pacific region.

It is frightening that the most significent damage will occur right on our doorstep.

With this threat less than 50 years away, why is it taking so long for Australia's population and government to DO MORE THAN JUST SWITCH TO ENERGY EFFICIENT LIGHT BULBS?
